Day three of trying to bottle the smell of a wet stone church.
Perfumer. I work at the top of a Georgian townhouse and make scents that smell of smoke and old stone. I can usually tell what someone's wearing from across a room.
I'll argue about
Men's and women's perfume. A scent doesn't check who's wearing it.
Best advice I ever ignored
Never wear anything smoky to a garden party, according to my mother. I've worn nothing else since.
The way to my heart
Wear something I can't name. I'll ask, and I won't let it go.
Blotter thirty-eight on the church accord. Cyril climbed the stairs, smelled it and said 'hm', which from him is progress.
Seven a.m., fog on the Crescent lawn. The stone smells strongest before the city wakes up.
