This page covers three common reasons to leave SpicyChat: a long scene loses track of earlier details, you want to play a different role, or you want to build a character another way. For each one, it compares SpicyChat with Character.AI and tempteo, including content rules and what doesn’t move over automatically. Janitor AI and CrushOn.AI, which many lists of SpicyChat alternatives name, are covered below with their free limits and prices, and Candy.ai in short form.
We make tempteo and list it first, so this isn’t an independent ranking, and we don’t pick a winner. Statements about other services come from their own documentation, and tempteo’s limits are listed as well.
SpicyChat’s September pricing update and its current context documentation settle two older questions: paid prices are now public, and I’m All In allows up to 32,768 context tokens where the selected model supports them. A bigger limit or a subscription still doesn’t prove better recall in a given conversation.
How we compared
We read SpicyChat’s and Character.AI’s public documentation on September 23, 2026, Janitor AI’s help center and CrushOn.AI’s pricing page on September 27, and Candy.ai’s pricing and Terms on August 13. We also checked tempteo’s creator code and guides. We didn’t chat with the other services, buy their plans, time their replies or import a character, so the tasks below are checks you can run yourself, not our results. Your account, model and region can change what you see.
Compare the tasks you actually want to do
Keep a long scene consistent
Write down three facts at the start: the museum closes at nine, the key is missing, and the detective has not met the suspect. Later, ask the character to summarize the case.

Note any contradictions and which facts needed a reminder. Compare conversations of the same length and write down manual memory edits. A token limit alone won’t tell you which service keeps your story straight.
Change the role you play
Switch from the witness to a new museum curator without changing the detective character.

Check who the character talks to and which relationship it assumes after the switch. A persona slot and an AI character slot do different jobs, so don’t compare their counts as if they were the same feature.
Move an original character concept
Reuse a character you wrote, keeping its short description, greeting and three essential traits separate from the old conversation history.

Read back the saved setup and start a new scene before you move more material over. Exported character fields don’t bring your conversation history, private memories or another model’s style with them.

Questions before switching
Is the cheapest SpicyChat plan enough for a larger context window?
The current context guide gives both free and Get A Taste a 4,096-token ceiling. True Supporter rises to 8,192, and I’m All In to 32,768 where the model permits. Check the model as well as the tier before paying specifically for more context.
What changed in September pricing?
The September 8 update lists new monthly and annual amounts, shown below with their currencies. Existing recurring subscribers can keep an old price while their plan remains active and unchanged. Changing a plan can move it to the new rate; inspect the linked pricing FAQ before switching.
Which alternative gives the most context for free?
By the published numbers, Janitor AI’s free tier has around 9k tokens, CrushOn.AI’s free tier 8K memory and SpicyChat’s free tier 4,096 tokens. These are limits the providers state, not recall we measured, and CrushOn deletes free chat history after 7 days without activity.
Which service won these tasks?
None, because we didn’t measure a winner. The page compares what each provider documents and suggests checks you can run. We didn’t generate matched replies, buy subscriptions or test imports, so we make no claim about which model writes better or remembers more.
