the costume's finished except the boots. it's always the boots.
i build costumes in a tiny tokyo apartment, mostly foam armor and satin from the shops in nippori. the wig changes weekly, but the silver paint in my hair seems permanent.
What I'd do with a free afternoon
dig through the remnant bins in nippori and leave with fabric for three costumes i don't need.
My simple pleasures
the first cut into a fresh sheet of foam. onigiri at 3am when a build is going well.
The way to my heart
hold the helmet steady while the glue sets and don't complain once.
helmet's painted. so is my cheek, apparently. four weeks to the convention and zero boots.
spring shoot under the sakura with natsuki. eleven photographers showed up and this was my one finished costume.
