Voice features can look similar in a chat, but they ask you to do different things. One plays a character reply, one helps you send a spoken message, and one opens a separate live conversation. Choosing the right control matters more than looking for a single “voice on” switch.

Playback: hear a reply

Playback starts from a message the character has already produced. Use it when you want to hear the tone of a reply without changing how you write your next message. Before tapping, check that the message and voice control are available for that character and account. Audio generation can depend on the current provider and may use credits; the product should show the applicable requirement.

Voice input: speak your next message

Voice input records your words for review and sending in chat. It is useful when typing would break the flow of a scene, but your spoken message still becomes a chat turn. Review what was recognized before sending, especially names, places, and short negations. If recognition is wrong, edit or type the message instead of letting a mistaken line become part of the story.

Live call: a separate conversation

A call opens a live conversation screen when that option is available. It suits a quick back-and-forth, while text chat is easier for a detailed scene setup or a continuity note. Call availability depends on account access and provider status. Check any credit, time, or plan requirement shown before starting; do not assume that access to chat includes unlimited call time.
